2021 – 2022 Concerts & Fundraisers Schedule

Due to the COVID-19 Coronavirus, we cancelled  all of our  concerts for the 2020-2021 concert year.  However, the Paradise Performing Arts Center reopened for live events in May of this year, and we held a LIVE CONCERT by the Paradise Symphony Orchestra on Sunday, May 16 at the PPAC.  “ARTISTS AND AMERICANO, was presented featuring the winners of the Young Artists Competition from 2019.  Allie Braito, Junior Division Winner and Sarah Harris, Senior Division Winner delighted and thrilled the audience with their presentations.   In addition, the Symphony presented  a rousing patriotic music concert on the 4th of July.  Both of these concerts were free and were enthusiastically supported by the public.  We also held our major annual  Summer Fundraiser, “Music Under the Stars”, on August 29, 2021 at 5pm, and it was a rousing success.  Our next major event will be on December 5, 2021 at the PPAC, “Holiday in Paradise“, at pm.  Details are listed below and tickets will be available soon from Paradise Community Chorus members, PSO Board members, Maria’s Kitchen, Joy Lyn’s Candies,  or at the door.

Thank you for your ongoing support of the symphony.

Concerts

Please note that our Concert starting time has changed to 6:00 pm for all in-person PSO only concerts at the Paradise Performing Arts Center.  We ask that all attendees be seated by 5:45 pm, to enable our ushers time to ensure that current COVID-19 restrictions are being met.  Masks and Social distancing requirements may be required and if so, will be enforced for individuals and/or family groups as long as COVID-19 restrictions are in place.  Groups will be seated when all group members are present.

We are planning a full Concert and Fundraiser Schedule for the 2021-2022  Season.  The first Concert of this Season unfortunately had to be cancelled due to extreme weather.  We are working on themes and programs for all of the new season’s remaining concerts, and will be posting them on this website in the near future.  Tickets will be sold on-line on this website only or at the door the night of the concert.  Please keep checking this website for more information and the opportunity to purchase tickets for the three remaining PSO only Concerts (Jan. 16:  Mar. 27; May 29) which will be available approximately 30 days prior to each event on the get Tickets Page.   Present your receipt at Will Call for tickets purchased online. The December 5, 2021 Concert is a collaborative event with the Paradise Community Chorus and the Oroville Community Chorus, and is not included with the Season Ticket.  Tickets for that event are currently being printed, and will be available from Paradise Community Chorus members, PSO Board members, Maria’s Kitchen, Joy Lyn’s Candies, or at the door.

Holiday in Paradise

December 5th, 2021 | 3 pm

In an exciting first for The Ridge, Paradise will kick off the 2021 holiday season featuring a true collaboration of Music and Art on December 5 at 3:00 pm in the Paradise Performing Art Center. A wonderful opportunity to get the whole family into the holiday spirit, Sam Gronseth directs the Paradise Community Chorus in their first appearance since the Camp Fire. They join the Paradise Symphony Orchestra directed by Dr. Lloyd Roby to perform a variety of holiday favorites, enhanced by performances from the Northern California Ballet and the Oroville Community Chorus.  This special spirit-filled event will feature more than 25 community members singing a variety of songs from Winter Wonderland to the Hallelujah Chorus. The Symphony will also perform other holiday favorites and accompany both the chorus and ballet. Many organizations, mostly from The Ridge, have been waiting for the opportunity to break out from the debilitating effects of the Camp Fire and pandemic to bring JOY to our community, and the holidays are the perfect place to start. These include a unique visual art performance, a dance troupe, and best of all—an audience sing-along.  What a way to kick off the holiday season—celebrating with friends and family! This is a strong community event with family-friendly admission. You may purchase your tickets from the performers, at local outlets and at the door as available. Admission is $15 for adults with children under 12 welcomed for free.    As this is a Paradise Community Chorus sponsored event, tickets are not available on this website.

However, tickets can be purchased from Paradise Community Chorus members, PSO Board members, Maria’s Kitchen, Joy Lyn’s Candies, or at the door.  For more information, contact Sam Gronseth at 530 588-4959.

Fundraisers

The first Fundraiser for the 2021-2022 season, “Music Under the Stars”, was held as scheduled on August 29, 2021 at the Bille Park Pavilion, and was highly successful, raising some much needed funding for the upcoming season.  The event featured a delicious hot served meal, prepared by The Italian Guy Catering, both Live and Silent Auctions with approximately 60 donated items, and one of the more unusual concerts performed by the Symphony Orchestra.  There were five interesting ensembles derived from the Orchestra including a Trombone quartet, a Woodwind quartet, a String quartet, and a Vocal and Guitar Duet, all of which was followed by a presentation of “Disney Magic” by all of the ensembles combined.   Attendees of all ages joined Conductor Lloyd Roby singing familiar words to the Disney songs to end a wonderful evening.  We are now beginning our planning for the Winter Fundraiser, “From the Symphony With Love”, which is scheduled to be held on February 13, 2022, with location to be determined.
